Andre Paul
Partner/Programme Manager
Biography
Andre Paul is a Partner/Program Manager at REV-UP SLU. He is anecdotally the most popular TV news anchor and radio personality in St Lucia and consequently a household name throughout the island. Andre has extensive experience in the field of radio and television broadcasting, having worked as a broadcaster for close to 50 years.
His interest in radio broadcasting started when as a very young boy he visited the studios of WIBS in St Lucia (which was housed in the now Parliament Buildings) with his godfather. Andre immediately knew his career path. He joined Radio Caribbean at 16 years old in 1976 for a few months as a continuity announcer. He left and joined the St. Lucia Broadcasting Corporation/Radio St. Lucia in 1977. There he continued as a continuity announcer and learned the skills of radio production/broadcasting.
Young Andre wanted to further develop his career and in 1983 left St. Lucia to pursue a two-year studies programme in Broadcast Management at a college in the USA. Upon completion he returned to Radio St. Lucia. He soon developed his own on-air personality, “THE MUSIC CONQUEROR”, and his rich clear baritone voice placed him in good stead to become the Morning Man for the national radio station. He read the news, developed programmes but his mark as one of the best on air personalities was undisputed.
In 1987 he was the presenter for the HTS’ Evening News; and then in the early 90s he joined RADIO 100 as their Morning Man. Andre Paul is a well-known household name in St. Lucia, synonymous with the discipline, creativity, inspiration and service – all hallmarks of a great broadcaster.
