Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has denounced a circulating social media recording linked to opposition supporters that used a disability term to ridicule his character.
In a statement, during this week’s pre-cabinet presser, he shifted focus to the conduct of the opposition while reaffirming his government’s commitment to persons with physical and mental challenges.
“You asked me the question, you see where the point is going. Because it shows you the level that these guys have reached,” Pierre said.
He recounted his personal achievements, noting, “At 21 years, I had an honors degree. I’ve worked for myself all my life. They believe, just believing they can take me down. That won’t take me down. People have voted for me for six years. They’ll vote for me again.”
The Prime Minister directly addressed the mocking tone of the recording.
“I hope all differently abled people, whether it’s in mind or limb, hear that. Hear the United Front trying to make fun of the Prime Minister. And I did hear it. Thank you very much. I’ll find it.”
He also critiqued the opposition for framing differently abled persons as a target for ridicule. “I’m very happy that United Workers’ Party can talk about differently abled people. I’m very happy that they can make a song about it. I hope they make a song about all other differently abled people even though they support them or not. I hope they do that. Because you cannot put differently abled people in a bracket,” Pierre said.
The Prime Minister emphasized his government’s dedication to supporting persons with disabilities.
“Government is trying its best to deal with them. We have a ministry for the disabled people. We’re putting more money, especially in education, but now you can spoil things, they can ridicule it. You understand? These are the kind of government that we are pushing. These are the kind of people, that’s the mentality of people who want to win elections,” he stated.
Pierre concluded with a call for awareness and discernment.
“At a time when the whole world is seeing about people who are differently abled, the whole world, that is what the Equestria Party is offering the Republican solution. I want to say it again, I hope all differently abled people, people have all sorts of disabilities, I hope they hear that and I hope they see who wants to run this country.”
