A joint operation by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has resulted in the seizure of significant sums of cash and controlled substances, following coordinated searches in Dennery and Micoud.
According to a police statement, the operation, conducted on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, involved officers from the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, the Special Operations Team, and the Central Intelligence Unit.
During the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Church Street in Dennery Village, officers recovered $16,000 in cash believed to be proceeds of crime.
“The execution of a search warrant at a residence on Church Street in Dennery Village led to the seizure of $16,000 cash in suspected proceeds of crime,” the statement said.
Police confirmed that the matter has been referred to the Financial Intelligence Authority for further investigation, with one female currently in custody assisting officers.
In a separate search at a property in Over The Bridge, Dennery, officers seized an additional $10,386.00, also suspected to be linked to criminal activity.
“A search warrant executed at a residence in Over The Bridge, Dennery, led to the seizure of $10,386.00, also suspected to be proceeds of crime,” the statement added.
One male individual has been taken into custody in connection with that discovery, with the case likewise referred to the Financial Intelligence Authority.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Ti Rocher, Micoud, officers recovered quantities of suspected cannabis resin and cannabis.
Police reported that 53-year-old Peter Plante was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply.
“A search conducted at Ti Rocher, Micoud, resulted in the recovery of suspected cannabis resin and cannabis,” the statement noted.
Plante has since been granted bail in the sum of EC$1,000 on each charge.
The police say investigations into the matters are ongoing as authorities continue efforts to disrupt illegal drug activity and financial crimes across the island.
