Police Identify Man Found in Shallow Grave as Eric Lansiquot; Two Arrested in Separate Drug Operations
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has confirmed that the man discovered in a shallow grave at Bruceville, Vieux Fort on January 25, 2026, has been formally identified as Eric Lansiquot of Canaries.
According to Superintendent in charge of the Southern Division, Stephen Victorin, the identification was made following a postmortem examination conducted on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
“At a postmortem examination, the body of the John Doe was identified as that of Eric Lansiquot of Canaries by a family member,” Victorin stated.
He further disclosed that the examination revealed Lansiquot died as a result of severe head injuries.
“The cause of death was determined to be traumatic brain injury due to multiple depressed skull fractures due to blunt force trauma to the head,” Victorin said.
He noted that investigations into the matter are being handled by the Major Crimes Unit and appealed to the public for assistance.
“Anyone with information which will assist with the investigation of this matter may contact the Major Crimes Unit at 457-3754 or provide anonymous tips via the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force crime hotline at 555 or the crime hotline app,” Victorin added.
In a separate development, police have confirmed the arrest and charging of two men following coordinated anti-narcotics operations in Castries and Babonneau.
According to WSPC Miss Zane Romulus, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, officers attached to the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, supported by the K9 Unit, conducted operations at two locations in Odsan and Cacao, Babonneau.
“A warrant executed in Odsan, Castries led to the discovery of 100 grams of cannabis resin, which carries an estimated street value of $3,500,” Romulus said. She added that a 29-year-old male, identified as Hassan Rambally, was arrested in connection with that seizure.
Romulus also reported that in Cacao, Babonneau, officers executed a warrant at the residence of 43-year-old Terry Xavier, also known as Big T.
“During the search, officers discovered and seized a quantity of narcotics, including 0.18 kilograms of crack cocaine and 0.142 kilograms of cannabis resin,” she stated.
Both men were subsequently charged.
“Following their arrests, Hassan Rambally and Terry Xavier were formally charged with the offences of possession of controlled drugs and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another,” Romulus said.
During separate bail hearings held on Friday, January 30, Rambally was granted bail in the sum of $3,500, while Xavier was granted bail in the sum of $7,500.
