The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has confirmed that a man has been formally charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of 44-year-old Lensley Samuel in Micoud.
According to a statement issued by police on May 7, the incident occurred along Duke Street in Micoud on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
“The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Micoud Police Station has formally charged one individual in connection with the fatal stabbing of forty-four-year-old Lensley Samuel, which occurred along Duke Street, Micoud, on Thursday, April 30, 2026,” the statement said.
Police identified the accused as Jeremy Bicar, 35, who was reportedly arrested on the same day as the incident.
“One suspect, thirty-five-year-old Jeremy Bicar, was arrested on the same day of the incident,” the police statement noted.
Authorities also disclosed that a post-mortem examination was carried out earlier this week to determine the exact cause of death.
“On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, a post-mortem examination was conducted on the body of Lensley Samuel,” police stated. “The examination concluded that Samuel died as a result of stab wounds to the chest.”
Investigators subsequently laid a murder charge against Bicar later that same day.
“Later the same day, Jeremy Bicar was formally charged with the offence of murder,” the statement added.
Police confirmed that the accused has since been remanded into custody at the Bordelais Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings.
