Castries South East MP Lisa Jawahir has used the Christmas season to reflect on unity, gratitude and renewed purpose, while outlining clear priorities for her newly assumed ministerial portfolio.
In a message to constituents, Jawahir described the recent electoral outcome as a defining moment for the constituency.
“This season gives us reason to pause with gratitude. Together, we achieved an overwhelming victory, one that was not just an election result, but a powerful statement of unity, trust, and belief in a brighter future for Castries Southeast,” she said.
She expressed humility and resolve as she prepares to serve both as parliamentary representative and Cabinet minister. “I remain deeply humbled by the confidence you placed in me, and I carry that responsibility with pride, purpose, and unwavering commitment,” Jawahir stated.
Turning to her role as Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Climate Change, Jawahir outlined a forward-looking agenda focused on sustainability and empowerment.
“As your parliamentary representative and as Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Climate Change, the work ahead is clear,” she said. “The new year will be about strengthening food security, empowering our farmers and fishers, protecting our environment, building climate resilience and creating sustainable opportunities for our people especially our youth.”
Jawahir emphasized that progress would be driven by action and inclusivity across the constituency. “We will move forward with action, innovation and care for every community that makes up this proud constituency,” she said.
Extending Christmas wishes, the Castries South East MP called for unity and hope as the new year approaches. “Let this Christmas fill our hearts with love, kindness and hope. Let the new year bring renewed strength, good health, economic opportunity and peace to every home,” Jawahir said.
She concluded by reaffirming her commitment to collective nation-building. “Together, we will continue to build a Castries Southeast and a St. Lucia that is resilient, productive and prosperous,” she noted. “Thank you for your trust, your support and your belief. The victory was ours. Now the future is ours to build.”
