The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) was kept busy over the weekend, responding to three separate emergency incidents, including two suspected gunshot woundings in Dennery and a motor vehicular collision in Vieux Fort.
SLFS Press Officer Sherise John confirmed that the most recent call came in on Monday, December 1st, 2025, when officers responded at approximately 1:04 p.m. to what was reported as an alleged gunshot wounding at Richfond, Dennery.
“On arrival at the scene, an adult male was found in a seated position in the presence of police officers,” John said. “An assessment revealed two penetrating wounds to the back of his calves. He was treated then transported to a medical facility for advance medical care.”
The day before, on Sunday, November 30th, 2025, SLFS officers were dispatched around 2:04 a.m. to another alleged shooting, this time in Grand Ravine, Dennery.
According to John, “On arrival at the scene, an adult male was found in a supine position on the ground. An assessment revealed a penetrating wound to the right side of the chest. He was treated then transported to a medical facility for advance medical care.”
The weekend’s first major incident occurred on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, when the SLFS responded to a motor vehicular collision on Clarke Street, Vieux Fort, involving a minibus and a pedestrian.
“On arrival at the scene, an adult male was found lying on the roadside verbally unresponsive,” John reported. “An assessment revealed minor injuries about the body. He was treated then transported to a medical facility for advance medical care.”
The SLFS continues to urge the public to exercise caution on the roads and in their communities while reminding citizens that early emergency calls greatly improve response outcomes.
