Chairperson of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee (CPMC), Ms. Tamara Gibson, said “D’Vibes embodies two of our most important pillars for Lucian Carnival, inclusivity and cultural development. Dennery Segment is part of our Saint Lucian identity. By giving it this platform during a time where the genre is most critical to our carnival, ensures that we see even more music emerging from the artists throughout the year. By investing in our homegrown talent through shows like this, we ensure that Lucian Carnival maintains its authentic Saint Lucian flavour.”
D’Vibe has certainly secured its place on the annual Lucian Carnival calendar marking a defining moment for the Dennery Segment genre and setting the pace for the week’s events.
The next event on the Lucian Carnival Calendar is the Inter-commercial House Competition, on Thursday, July 10, at the National Cultural Centre from 8pm. 20 Companies will compete in this year’s competition for a chance to secure this year’s title.
