Olympic champion Julien Alfred sped to the women’s 100 meters victory at the athletics Diamond League meeting in Oslo’s Bislet Stadium on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, incidentally, also her birthday.
The Saint Lucian history maker, having won her nation’s first-ever Olympic medal – gold in the women’s 100m – at Paris 2024, clocked 10.76 seconds.
“I am healthy and I am happy to get the win here,” said Alfred afterward with Olympic reporters. “Before I came here, my mental coach said to me, ‘When you be yourself, it is the most powerful thing that you can do’. And I think I learn more and more from my experiences.”
Alfred’s win is part of a strong start to her 2026 Diamond League season that has already seen her grab the top spot in the women’s 200m when the circuit stopped in Rome on 4 June.
