The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has formally charged a 20-year-old man in connection with the double homicide of two Marchand residents, while police operations conducted in Soufriere and Castries have also led to multiple arrests and the recovery of illegal firearm-related items.
In a statement issued on May 18, police confirmed that one individual had been charged in relation to the killings of 64-year-old Pearl Ramsay of Marchand and 34-year-old Sheston Duncan of Black Mallet, Marchand.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on Saturday, May 9, 2026, along George Charles Boulevard, Marchand.
Police disclosed that “on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 20-year-old Seth John, alias ‘Nyhim,’ was arrested as a suspect in the matter.”
The statement further noted that John “was subsequently charged on Thursday, May 14, 2026, with two counts of Murder.”
Police added that the accused “has since been remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.”
Meanwhile, law enforcement officials also provided an update on a large-scale joint operation conducted in Soufriere on Friday, May 15.
The operation involved officers attached to the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, the Department of Road Safety and Traffic Investigations, the Special Services Unit, the Soufriere Police Station, Tactical Response South, and other personnel from the Southern Division.
According to police, the exercise was conducted between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and included “traffic checkpoints, mobile and foot patrols, and the execution of search warrants in Palmiste, Market Road, Barons Drive, Belle Plain, and other areas of interest in and around Soufriere.”
Police reported that during the operation, officers “stopped 147 vehicles, searched 15 vehicles, and issued 22 tickets for various traffic offences.”
Authorities also confirmed the recovery of “one pistol along with a magazine containing five rounds of 9mm ammunition.”
The statement noted that “four individuals were arrested during this operation.”
In a separate matter, police also announced charges against a Castries resident following another operation carried out within the city on Wednesday, May 13.
The operation involved officers from the Gangs, Narcotics, Firearms Unit, the Special Services Unit, Tactical Response Unit, and the Central Intelligence Unit.
Police said that during the execution of a warrant at the residence of Elijah Benjamin Khodra, alias “Beh Ben,” in Leslie Land, Castries, officers recovered “a component of a firearm.”

Khodra was subsequently arrested and “formally charged with the offence of Possession of a component part of a Weapon contrary to Section 22 (3) of the Firearms Act of Saint Lucia.”
Police confirmed that he “has been granted bail in the sum of fifteen thousand dollars cash or suitable surety.”
The latest developments come amid continued efforts by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force to clamp down on violent crime and illegal firearms activity across the island.
